/res tp fme is a survival base by Chewcat1 that consists of map-sized pixel art images. Chewy sells these maps as wallpaper, to be placed on item frames so players can decorate their homes. There are various examples of this throughout survival, including my own /res tp Icescraper where I sell blank white maps.
Whilst this model is quite ingenious, there are a few issues:
- Pixel art takes up maps of space, which could be detrimental to the surrounding bases and environment.
- Without the proper care taken (massive /res claiming and map locking) pixel art may be griefed, which would affect the copied maps.
- Pixel art is extremely expensive due to the amount of materials required, the money needed to claim the space, as well as the need to fly.
What if we had a dimension which is accessible like /resource or /market, but it is a flat world that is suitable for the creation of pixel art? This world will have map-sized squares on the ground which would indicate the borders of a standard size map, and players may visit this world to create their own images, which they can then distribute throughout Dogecraft.
Proposal 1: We have a /pixelart world in each gamemode (survival, slimefun, prisons etc). The requirement to access /pixelart would be a high level job perk, to prevent new players from griefing it. Players are expected to bring their own materials to make the pixel art and distribute maps, but at a high level job they should be able to obtain the materials anyway.
Proposal 2: A /pixelart dimension that is part of /creative, where players can own map-sized plots and use them to make pixel art. Each player is limited to one map-sized plot, but can edit it however they want (or leave it as one plain default colour). There must be a way to transfer these images to the other gamemodes for decorative use (for example, a /hdb for maps)
Proposal 3: A separate gamemode server similar to /creative, explicitly for pixel art use, where access is given by application to a "pixel art team". This team would have more command freedom than the /public creative, so that they may build art faster as well as manage an archive of past art. Like Proposal 2, images must be accesible to the other gamemodes.
