Skyblock
I agree that the server shop kinda killed skyblock. Having everything available from the start, with the only obstacle being cost, put too much emphasis on grinding and money-making schemes. As much as the server shop is considered convenient, it is completely against skyblock gameplay, which is more about limited resources. If skyblock were to return, I would hope for the following:
- Slyblock "plots" similar to creative, so flying players can visit neighbouring builds
- The server shop is limited to players selling items, rather than buying items to start their farms. In order to be able to make grindable farms to sell to the server shop, players must either obtain the items the traditional way, or purchase them from other players
- Daily quests and ecraft coins similar to prison, so that elytra and fireworks can be crafted as an alternative to creative-style flying
- Once a certain block limit is reached, players are able to "reset" their plot in exchange for more /bal, collectibles or titles
UHC
If this ever returns, it should have global announcements similar to voting but every 2 hours, encouraging players to join at the same time, so there are actual games. Also, in the case that nothing more can be done to the glass spawn box that would display information to players, I will build a display outside the sword portal in lobby instead.
Factions
Rather than kingdoms or raids, we might as well call this gamemode something that newcomers are familiar with, so that we attract people who are looking for this type of gamemode. Players can then decide what makes it different to traditional factions servers based on their own experiences. On another note, I made a shield portal in lobby in case anyone wants to have a look.
