So you have joined the Dogecraft community.
Welcome to the server!
If this is your first time in multiplayer Minecraft, you may be asking yourself: "How do I play Dogecraft?" This is a beginner's guide to navigating your way through your first Survival experience.
Upon first spawning into the lobby, you will receive a map containing text in it. Press the T key on your keyboard to open the chatbox and type the text you see. This is a "Captcha" test that we use to prevent bots from swarming the server, so that only humans can play Dogecraft. Do this quickly or you will be kicked out!
You are standing on a giant tree stump, facing a big pixel art of Doge, the shiba inu. You can run towards it and use the launchpads for a bit of vertigo fun. To begin a survival game, turn around 180° and head towards the red house through the portal. Alternatively, select the nether star in your inventory and click the Survival item to enter.
At this point you are able to enter other gamemodes, such as Slimefun or Skyblock, but for the sake of beginners and first-time players, it is recommended you try Survival first to get the hang of playing in Dogecraft.
The first thing you notice in the stone hall that is Survival spawn (/spawn) is the Doge pixel art on the ceiling. There are many places you can go from here, such as:
- /enchanting, a public facility equipped with fully-powered enchanting tables, anvils and a Villager that sells custom enchantments
- /crates, a place to claim rare material rewards for voting for our server (/vote)
- /goal, which gives everyone 1 hour of free flight for every $25 anyone spends in Dogecraft's online store
- /resource, a parallel dimension where you can gather unlimited materials. No building is permitted here due to the resets that happen every Nikomonth.
- /market, a parallel dimension where you can visit player-owned shops and buy goods from them.
- /pvp, the only public place in Survival that allows pvp. Also has keepinventory.
To go out into the main world, enter the 2nd portal on the left, labeled "Random Teleport". Before you do this, go visit the villager standing next to the portal to view a video about how to land claim, which is very important to protect your builds from grief. If you need to see this video again later, simply type /claim and follow the link.
You will be teleported to a random spot in the main survival world. If you dislike where you were teleported, you can always type /rtp to teleport again. This has a 60 second cooldown so please explore the area you are in while you wait. If you are travelling with a friend, type /tpask to request a teleport to them. Always ask for consent before teleporting, don't randomly spam people with tp requests.
If you cannot interact with your surroundings, you are probably in someone's residence (remember the /claim video). Simply travel to a different area to build. You may also use the map of all residences, available here on the Dogecraft website, to find an empty area or biome of your preference.
Remember that there are /rules against griefing and theft, especially when it comes to unclaimed player builds. Please avoid builds that have been created by other players. If you do wish to claim an old unclaimed building, always ask a staff member to inspect it beforehand, and Never scavenge from it.
After choosing a place to set up your base, follow the instructions in the /claim video to make it your residence. Ensure you have enough /balance to make such a claim.
You have established a base in Dogecraft Survival! From here you may choose to do the following:
- /jobs, allows you to grind and farm for in-game money
- /ranks, use your well earned money to increase your abilities and permissions
- /sethome and /home, a fast way to teleport
- /ah, the auction house, for buying things from other players
- /vote, for every vote you receive a free diamond and $1000.
If you are in trouble, remember the following:
- /spawn, return to the Doge hall if you ever get stuck somewhere you cannot escape
- /kit food, gives you a heap of baked potatoes so you don't get too hungry
- /kit starter, use this if you die and lose all your stuff. Remember that there is no default keepinventory in Survival, and that unless you know exactly where you died and can get there in 5 minutes, your items are lost and unretrieveable.
- /lobby, if you decide you are ready for one of the other gamemodes that Dogecraft has to offer.
- If there is any problem not covered by this tutorial, feel free to ask one of our friendly staff for information you may need.
