It has come to my attention that there are people who believe that we of the Dogecraft community are breaking Minecraft's End User Licence Agreement, which restricts the use of the Minecraft game for commercial purposes, due to our webstore which has been seen as "pay2win" by new players. As of recently, our server and our community has come under attack from these individuals and their alt armies, spamming that we will be reported for misusing Minecraft. (Which is quite ironic considering the legitimacy of an alt army)
The EULA does state that Minecraft is not to be used for commercial purposes, UNLESS Mojang specifically agrees to it.
However, as of the Minecraft Commercial Usage Guidelines, which can be found here, Mojang has allowed for the commercial use of Minecraft as long as it is for the sake of covering the costs of a Community-Based server, like ourselves.
Also just to be clear, the webstore contains items that, whilst powerful, are in no way necessary for the actual enjoyment of this server, nor are they even the strongest in-game, so they can't really be called pay2win in the first place, especially in a game where "winning" is a matter of perspective. Most of the purchasable items can be dwarfed by custom enchants and in-game ranks, and the remaining purchasable items are cosmetic.
Upon saying that, I still encourage anyone who plays Dogecraft to continue browsing the webstore, and making a donation if you see something you like. In any case, the proceeds from the webstore go to keeping our server active and providing everyone with new and great content. Niko and Pustinek worked really hard to make this server enjoyable, it makes sense that we support them for their efforts.
And remember that for every $25 accumulated, we all get free fly time at /goal in all gamemodes.
Stay safe and don't feed the trolls!
