Here's the thing. I love capitalism. But there is a difference between being a capitalist and being an ahole that creates an unplayable atmosphere and that's what NebelZekromus and Geodaveros are doing currently. So here's the story. Obviously we're all aware that the ecrafting gem economy is a bit dry right now (Colos, Alexandrite etc) These guys were literally not trying to buy anything this morning until I announced in chat that I was trying to make an ascended pick and was buying ores, alexandrite, and coloshite. Nebel asked me how much I would pay and I said, I wasn't sure of the fair price but I usually see shops at 50-75k each.
Following that discussion, Nebel and Geo had a public, global chat conversation saying they wanted to set the new colo price at 200k and intended to buy all coloshites that were being sold less than that. All fun and games until I ask in global again later if anyone had coloshites for sale, and Under_Void replied that they had three. I proceeded to message them and offered 100k only to find out Nebel was also now messaging them trying to buy the coloshites out from under me.
So here's my issue. I'm all for market competition. I'm all for supply and demand. This isn't supply and demand. This is two people publicly announcing that they want to manipulate the market and then subsequently trying to deplete all of the available items for sale from the market so no one has any choice but to either just not get to make ecraft equipment, or submit and pay their insane prices. At the end of the day it's not something that's going to ruin the game for me, I'm a well established wealthy player with more resources to draw from than most but it does create an atmosphere of impassable obstacles for new players trying to move up and better their equipment and ultimately that damages the server.
